What about ISA?

August 02, 2009 By: admin Category: Info Tech

Recently we have bounced to lots of news about Internal Security Act, ‘ISA’. I bet you, majority of us do not know what ISA is about. Not an issue, because we will start to learn what it’s about.

The Internal Security Act 1960 (Malay: Akta Keselamatan Dalam Negeri) is a preventive detention law in force in Malaysia. The legislation was enacted by Malaysian politicians after the country gained independence from Britain in 1957. In brief, it allows for the arrest of any person without the need for trial in certain defined circumstances. Malaysia is one of the few countries in the world whose Constitution allows for preventive detention during peacetime without safeguards that elsewhere are understood to be basic requirements for protecting fundamental human rights.

polislo

Any police officer may without warrant arrest and detain pending enquiries any person in respect of whom he has reason to believe that there are grounds which would justify his detention under section 8; and that he has acted or is about to act or is likely to act in any manner prejudicial to the security of Malaysia or any part thereof or to maintenance of essential services therein or to the economic life thereof.”

Any person may be detained by the police for up to 60 days without trial for an act which allegedly threatens the security of the country or any part thereof. After 60 days, one may be further detained for a period of two years each, to be approved by the Minister of Home Affairs, thus permitting indefinite detention without trial. In 1989, the powers of the Minister under the legislation was made immune to judicial review by virtue of amendments to the Act, only allowing the courts to examine and review technical matters pertaining to the ISA arrest.

What happened on 01 Aug, 2009? It was a gathering event of Anti-ISA and Pro-ISA among few places in Kuala Lumpur such as Sogo, Masjid Jamek and Masjid Negara. And that’s why thousand of peoples trapped in traffic jam. Reports say that there were about 15,000 to 20,000 of them made into this event.

How to fix a friend’s PC?

July 26, 2009 By: admin Category: Info Tech

How to help fixing your friend’s PC with internet? I mean remote control.

CrossLoop enables you to securely view the screen and control a remote computer via the internet as if you were right there.

crossloop

It is a remote desktop service which allows users to share their computer screens and collaborate with others over the internet. The service was created by CrossLoop Inc. and utilizes TightVNC as part of its services, focusing on providing an easy interface. The service will work even if one or both of the computers are behind a firewall, so that users do not have to make any changes in the router or firewall to establish a connection.

The CrossLoop computer application uses TightVNC to establish a connection between computers, and a separate application to handle the billing of services between the two endpoints. CrossLoop encrypts the data sent across the computers ensuring that the security stays intact. Data is encrypted using a strong 128-bit Blowfish encryption algorithm.

Make police report

June 30, 2009 By: admin Category: Info Tech

Continue from Article 1

To make a police report, it’s advisable if both parties do it right away after the accident. Reminder: There’s no necessary to take down the other party’s name or IC number. However, get his contact number and car registration number will do. Take picture if possible.

If the other party cannot go to make police report with you, then he will have to do it within 24 hours after the accident. Failing to do which, police officer has rights to issue summon to him.

Here, we will talk about what to take note on the police report when you explain to the police officer. Attached herewith a sample of police report.

Before making police report, make sure you know where exactly the police station is concerned against the location of accident.

For example. If accident were happened after Sungai Buloh tol, is it consider Sungai Buloh, Shah Alam or Kepong, Kuala Lumpur? If you go to the wrong police station, then you may waste your effort as most of the time, they will not entertain your case by giving the answer that they are not in-charge for that specified area.

1) Now, upon starting the report. Make sure you explain in detail on how the accident happened, what time and if there was any witness.

2) Draw a picture on how the vehicles bump into hamburger, or kisses each another. It’s to double confirm that you are eligible to claim insurance as well.

3) Once the report is complete written, read it again and make sure nothing left behind, which including how your car was damaged due to the accident.

4) If no problem, counter sign on the report and take note of the IO/ AIO, which is the ID number of the police officer/ Sarjan who going to take duty and start investigation on said case. Because with this reference ID, you know who you can refer to for further follow-up.

car-accident1

1) Let’s see who kisses who’s ass. In another words, who is hitting from behind is normally claimed to be receive summons.

2) If the injury is very-minor, then you may consider to settle it on the spot, which mean you pay some repairing fees to him/ her, or he/ she pay back to you if both parties accept it.

3) If the injury is consider severe, it’s advisable for both of you to make police report IMMEDIATELY. Yes, both parties, at the same time*. There’s no necessary to take down the name, IC number or phone number. But you can do it, especially the contact number (once you got the number, try to call on the spot to make sure that the number is correct and belongs to him).

^take picture of car acccident on the spot, if available and possible.

3.1) *Why should you make police report at the same time? Simply because if he/ she hit you from behind (that he is in fault) and the injury is not serious, he may try to ignore and refused to go to make police report. Why again? Simply, if he would to do so, he would have receive summon (of RM300) and at the same time, his car insurance NCD will goes back to 0%, means no more discount for car insurance payment next year.
